OK, so hitRECorders I need a hand… I have a half baked idea for a collab, right, and I would like to kind of brainstorm with you guys about how to make it…work.

I want to start something called (something like) ‘The Lurkers’ Luncheon’ (not married to that, by the way. Like, really) whereby all the people who are TOO SCARED to upload or add their records and have been lurking away for some time, get to make some random non-collaborative themed records in a…safe, everyone’s-a-noob type environment. As in, the collab is just that people are new. Not that people have to create something which fits with a theme like Shadow People or whatnot. So it will be a random collaboration of firsts. And then we can remix all the random beautiful new records into something cool and it can be a kind of…way to get the lurkers out of their lurks. A RECruitment Drive. (Oooh, call it THAT??).

To add to the Lurkers’ Lounge (ooh maybe that’s better…?) I want people to record themselves hitting the red button at the same time as contributing to the Lurkers’ Luncheon (liking that again) for the first/second/third-odd time so that I can make a spin off collab about the experience of collaborating. The…for want of a better term, Cherry Popping Moment. I promise I will not call the collab that (unless you all agree it’s as hilariously inappropriate as I think it is). I want to recapture that moment of collaborative, creative…terror. Excitement. The SPARK. And then maybe a few days later a record of people telling us what happened to their record once they uploaded it, how they feel after the fact etc etc. And that could all be remixed in with the actual records, for REference.

OR ORRRRR and I just remembered I had this thought…a collaboration where we’re ALL noobs. Like, we all do stuff we don’t normally do or haven’t done before. For instance, I’ve never recorded myself dancing (for good reason, frankly) so maybe I could upload a video of myself doing that (not that I will, I’ll think of something else). And then User B’s never recorded themselves singing, so they’ll add that to the collab. And User C’s never walked a high-wire so they record themselves doing THAT. So, unlike the Lurker’s Lounge (or whatever) we’re ALL noobs doing something new and not relying on our talent/training to do something we’re comfortable with. Because that’s what I like about HitRecord…when I joined I’d never remixed a song in my life. Never never. So maybe we could all…try new shit and share videos/records of the results?

Hmm though. That’s very different though to the other two. Might have to…I suspect it’s one or the other, for now. Or both concurrently. Or neither. Or…?

Thoughts? I don’t want to start this unless there’s some merit in it, and I can’t tell. I need a hand.
